"Praise God, You Saints, from Heaven's Height"
/Here’s a hymn inspired by Psalm 148 which shows up in the Revised Common Lectionary on the First Sunday after Christmas Day (Year A). It is written in CMD (8.6.8.6.D) and is sung to the tune FOREST GREEN. However, as it’s written in CMD, it can be sung to a number of tunes. If you would like this hymn notated to a different tune, please let me know and I’ll be glad to send you a copy.

Praise God, you saints, from heaven’s height;
Praise God from valleys low;
from mountain streams to rivers wild
from which their waters flow.
Come all creation, sing your song;
lift up your voice in praise
to God who loves us into life,
the author of our days.
Praise God, celestial, shining stars
who twinkle from their perch.
Praise God, you people here below
who gather as the Church.
For we are born by God’s command;
She knits us in the womb.
Praise God, the source of growing things
whose breath births ev’ry bloom.
Praise God, you creatures of the sea
who swim within the deep.
Praise God, you birds who fill the sky,
and bugs who crawl and creep.
For all creation sings God’s praise
in lakes to forests green,
from hills above to caves below
and all that’s in-between.
