"Before I Formed You in the Womb"
/Here's a hymn inspired by Jeremiah 1:4-10 (which shows up Epiphany 4C). It is written in CM (8.6.8.6) and can be sung to the tune ST. ANNE, which is commonly used to sing "O God, Our Help in Ages Past").

“Before I formed you in the womb,
I consecrated you.
A prophet you will come to be,
to preach the word anew.”
Then I said, “God, choose someone else,
for I am but a child.
This burden is too much for me;
this journey, much too wild.”
“Do not say, ‘I am but a child’
you’re chosen for this task.
When comes the time you need some help,
you only have to ask!”
“Fear not, my child, for I’m with you
my presence will preside.
Deliver you, I will, and then
the nations will abide.”
God touched my mouth and I was blessed
to preach and prophesy,
to pluck and pull, destroy, create,
with God my strong supply.
